The Story of Miles from Hawaii and how he was able to integrate Odoo with Ross ERP with an ETL app
Miles, his company and the problem
Miles is a strong team player who likes to keep all of his co-workers working well together – it’s what has made him an effective IT manager within the alternative medicine industry for so long within Hawaii. However, Miles isn’t too strong on independent work and finds himself a little lost when others are busy with their own tasks and he is left to work on ideas on his own. When he can, Miles will offer to help others on their tasks to speed up the process so that they have the time to help him, much to the benefit of his strengths. integrate Odoo with Ross ERP soon came up within the company, which was an issue that was evidently shared with the entire workforce and that Miles had never had to fix before. Usually the solutions to his problems are straightforward and easy, so Miles panics. When he inquires other managers within the alternative medicine sector to see if it was a common issue, Miles found that it was – just not to this extent. One day, a group of co-workers approached Miles and notified him that their alternative medicine company needed to integrate Odoo with Ross ERP. Miles acts cool and collected, but on the inside he wishes that he has the strength to reach out to others within the company for their ideas. A few co-workers try to give Miles some insight, but it is clear that they know just about as much on how to integrate Odoo with Ross ERP as he does – not a lot.
How Miles was able to find the solution
Miles seeks the advice of close friends and those he has worked with for a long time, and is actually relatively surprised that they don’t seem to know the answers any more than he did. However, one co-worker suggested to Miles that he should just “Google it.” Despite hating that phrase, Miles does as he’s told and is surprised when he finds a website dedicated to telling people how to integrate Odoo with Ross ERP in a variety of industries – and with some assistance of a co-worker, he finds out how to get in contact with the website owner and does so. Miles stares at his inbox impatiently, awaiting an answer, but finally after two weeks, he gets one. The company highly recommends to him using manage efficiently expanding e-commerce applications in order to integrate Odoo with Ross ERP – after all, it was what they did and they were highly successful! Miles feels good about the response and even puts in overtime on the weekend in order to try to pull everything together. Miles struggled with some of the directions that the single person gave him, and not having a team to be the brains behind the operation initially stumped the IT manager, who didn’t want to always be going back to the helping employee for answers every five seconds. Instead, Miles sat down and went over the directions carefully and slowly until he could almost recite it from memory. Due to his diligence and patience, Miles was able to fully understand it and how manage efficiently expanding e-commerce applications would work for him – and even managed to get the whole thing running!

How Miles’s life changed after finding the solution
Miles’s ability to change how he thinks in order to get a problem solved really empowers the others within his business. Miles encourages this type of behaviour, as learning how to think in more than one way is creative and he’s the proof that doing so creates long-term answers. Miles was very much seen as more than just as team member after that, and is very much recognized as being their IT manager and leader as well! Miles had always assumed that getting along with your co-workers and always working together was the best and only method of getting things done. It took until this challenge before Miles could acknowledge that independent thinking could also be beneficial for him as a IT manager. Creative and independent thinking got Miles to where we was, so he decided to strive to integrate independent thinking along with the teamwork that he had already established. Miles wants others to follow in his footsteps, so whenever someone comes to him with an issue, Miles encourages them to talk through the problem on their own to see if they can find the answer within themselves. This sort of mentoring actually allowed creative solutions to be found, even when it came to manage efficiently expanding e-commerce applications that they already had in place. Miles’s solution to figuring out how to integrate Odoo with Ross ERP, as well as his mentoring skills, became very well-known within the company, and everyone thought it was well-earned when he got a raise!
